Im currently riding a bit of a confrontation high. My appointment, emergency, was late starting due to yet another emergency of a more blood and pain nature. The nice gals were just clearing out my tooth for a new temp tiara when I heard a man yelling at the girls at the front desk. It went on, and became very personally abusive. I gently pulled the womans hands away from my face, and smiled. Please excuse me. Ill be right back. Then got up and walked into reception, where jerk-face was still yelling at the receptionists who had hunched, defensive body languages going. I stood too close to the jerk. Excuse me. I think we should talk. He tried The Tone with me. Are you the manager of this office? No. I am a patient, and your abusive behavior is compromising the quality of my care. I need you to leave, please. Dont push me! I moved until the fabric of my sweater just touched his shirt. I am not. I am invading your personal space so that you feel as uncomfortable as youre making everyone else feel. This is a similar bullying tactic to what youre doing. He went quiet. The doctor came, and beckoned me back. They finished on my tooth. I got hugged by everyone in the office. The payment gal quietly murmured that my appointment would be free. The doctor hugged me and asked if Id ignore him as I walked out please, as hed gone quiet and complacent. Id be glad to. Just dont be a dick, people. Thats all.
