Im currently writing from approximately 50 nautical miles north of Freeport in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean heading up the Eastern seaboard, but wanted to check in and give a quick schedule confirmation for all who have inquired. Ive got three weeks left on the Pride, which has become a very comfortable home for me over the past year or so, signing off on September 7th. Im heading out to Memphis to visit the St. Jude Childrens Research Facility for a few days and then have been asked to fill in temporarily on the Ecstasy out of Miami from 9/12 - 9/29. I havent worked on a Fantasy Class ship since 2009 so Im kinda excited for a change of pace (plus its nice being at a port where I go head home for the day if need be!). Afterwards Ive got a 2 month vacation in October/November and then scheduled to join the Sensation in Port Canaveral December 4th. Im bouncing around more than a room full of caffeinated, sugared up, Camp Carnival kids the next several months!!! I also wanted to take a moment to share a video (below) which some of you have already seen, but Im very proud of. CCL issued all ships a 24 hour mission to participate and film an ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, something which has become a social media phenomenon to raise awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrigs disease. As myself and several other Pride Team members found out yesterday, dumping a bucket of ice water on your head while in 88 degree weather anchored in Half Moon Cay really doesnt feel that bad! HA! I just found out today that because we were successful, $100,000 has been donated by my organization to the cause and Gerry Cahill has challenged DJ Irie, George Lopez and Guy Fiere to do the same in the next 24 hours! YEAH! Anyway, I also wanted to take a quick opportunity to welcome the almost 100 new members to this page in the past week. Several of you have quickly become lifelong friends and I hope to keep in touch and see all of you out at sea sooner than later.... :) Enjoy the video below! Were at about 55 seconds in! Bye for now! youtu.be/Ppm6Rbepk4c?list=UUQtaYLDkO94wL2Nc7riTkSA
