Im deeply concerned for peoples theological literacy. There are rules you know; 1) believe what you wish, but be at least able to explain your belief to someone, or articulate it. Saying its none of your damn business isnt a explanation its a tantrum. At least say its personal, and private, thank you. Thats fine, just dont expect us to understand it. 2) if you state your belief is the one true way again thats fine, but be ready to defend your position, and understand there will be disagreements. 3) if your view is nontheological, humanistic and science driven, understand that that is NOT the worlds view, and is in fact a relatively new viewpoint In Human history. You may well be right, but respect that it is not in fact the worldwide view, its a principally western world view. 4) if your theological view is anti-science, you need to understand that bible is not, and never was meant to be a science text book. 5) the truth is somewhere between 1-4) 6) 1-5) may be completely wrong. LASTLY) Mocking, denigrating, physical violence, and hatred are not any way to convert anyone to any viewpoint. Only calm, and respectful conversation where both parties are genuinely searching if not for truth, but understanding will produce true spiritual and intellectual growth.
