Im delighter that US Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack has appointed my good friend Bill McDonald to serve on the Cattlemens Beef Board. The CBB allocates about $40 million a year for beef promotion and research. Bill is a very knowledgeable and progressive cattleman from Montgomery County who is a highly regarded leader in the beef industry. He will replace another excellent cattle producer and respected industry leader, Hank Maxey of Pittsylvania County, whose 6 year term comes to an end in 2015. It has been a real joy for me to serve on the Board alongside Hank and learn from him for the past four years that I have been on the CBB. Virginia cattlemen will continue to be well-represented by Bill.
