Im disappointed to see how many people I know who value partisan politics over a mans life. I do not believe in survival of the fittest. I am not a damn cheetah. I do not believe that people who have more money than I do are somehow better. I do not believe that people who have less money than I do are somehow worse. I do not believe that any sort of disobedience whatsoever should be met with death or that it should even be a possibility. I believe that that my life and the life of my family is worth everything despite what this country tells me every day to the contrary. I believe that we sit in judgement of other countries clucking our tongues in pity at the conditions that they live under while we are unable to smell our own house. I am living proof that it doesnt matter if youve done nothing wrong when it comes to police and Black American men. Stop telling yourself that. Its a lie. You just watched a man get murdered for a studio audience and his murderer get set free with no punishment and that doesnt rouse you. Keep clucking your tongue at other countries and keep working and consuming if thats what you need, Keep believing that it will never affect you, I guess. Its sad when someone makes a conscious choice to be rightand feel safe over being human. Im going to Oakland to protest.
