Im disappointed with the outcome of the mayoral race, but Im hopeful Mr. Bowman will work with everyone in our city and honour some of the visions we at the grassroots level have. I am however super happy that we have new representation here in Elmwood, the community Ive grown up in and choose to raise my son. I cant wait to see some passion brought to our community again. I will be sure to contact Councillor Jason Schreyer with some of my ideas for our neighbourhood as soon as hes settled in his new office. Im very proud of my cousin Kevin Settee for his try at a school trustee seat, you stepping up and trying is more than a lot of people can say theyve done to make our world a better place in their entire lifetime. I look forward to the day that this city will elect young First Nations people, not because theyre Aboriginal but because of their qualifications, ideas and forward thinking. As I go to sleep Im praying for a better Winnipeg and for a better Canada. Im also praying for the loved ones of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo who lost his life in Ottawa honourably serving our country. This world is crazy and we need to build positive change from within. Keep trying people, we as human beings must love each other and protect our future generations from hate, evil and ignorance. Aho!
