Im doing C25K again (starting over since I never finished the first time) and yesterday I did week 2, day 1, which is alternating 90 seconds of jogging with 2 minutes of walking and repeating 6 times. Excluding the 5 minute warmup and 5 minute cool down, that means I did a 1.8mi run/walk in 21 minutes. Thats a pace of 11:40/mi. It doesnt seem all that impressive thinking about it that way, but when I think about the fact that I never once completed the mile run in high school gym class (bearing in mind that the worst you could do was 15 minutes before they gave you a DNF) I feel like thats quite an accomplishment, and I feel like Ill totally be able to finish the program and be able to run a 5k in 30 minutes or less at the end.
