Im doing a radio thing on Tuesday about videos on our Facebook page.... sigh.... but on Wednesday Im doing a regional BBC station on dog walkers and how to avoid a bad one. Do any of the organisations actually impose any standards? Im likely saying be as fussy as you would be choosing a nanny or child care. Ask the difficult questions, get references, dont be overly influenced by a nice logo and a van.... ask about training philosophy, are they punitive? What they think of dog walkers that walk lots of dogs simultaneously and why they think that. I know these are the scenarios I will be probably be asked about... How many dogs being walked is too many? (I personally would not want someone taking even my own three out together alone.... ) What if there are three dogs unrelated and two got in a fight - how do you separate them and keep them apart while keeping the other safe? What if one runs off because they are spooked by something. What do you do? Will your dog be sharing a cage in the vehicle, will they be left in the vehicle while other dogs are walked....? Thoughts please - how can I succinctly tell people what to look out for and what to avoid? What are the tricky questions that will separate the responsible from the irresponsible? THank you
