Im doing better today, after the surgery on my eyelid yesterday. The surgery went well, only had to have 2 rounds of cutting out cancerous tissue, Unfortunately, I somehow ended up with a corneal abrasion, and whatever is scraping on the surface of my eyeball is still in there. The surgery place got me into a taxi and over to an ophthalmologist, who did all he could to protect my cornea from additional injury. That was a bit limited because he couldnt turn my upper eyelid inside-out to remove -- or even see -- whats causing the scraping. He put in a protective contact lens, told me remove the pressure bandage this morning, and Im treating with a couple of kinds of eyedrops. Back tomorrow, in hopes that he can see and remove whatever is continuing to scrape on the surface of my eye. It was very painful yesterday, but is more tolerable today with pain pills. Im so grateful I can stay in KC another night, to rest and recuperate. Means I dont have to drive on the highway yet to get home, and I dont have the hard physical labor of animal care yet.
