Im doubling up from the DCsoundclash posting with this, but including a different song via youtube. Junior Ross, nee Clifford Palmer, died recently at the young age of 61. Amidst the news of so many other deaths in that same musical family, we regret that this posting is taking place somewhat belatedly. Ross recorded output is small but significant. The body of work he did for producer Tapper Zukie is some of the most cherished of all heavy, deep roots music. The sheen of todays vibes cant touch it. It is also sadly fitting that Ross death comes on the heels of John Holts passing, since Ross once recounted how Holt had assisted in boosting him to producers, telling people at King Tubbys studio to give the youth a nex try. And so they did. If you can find his Babylon Fall record, get it. Blood & Fire reissued it in 2002 onto a 2-CD set that also included Prince Alla material. RIP Junior Ross.
