Im exhausted! I spent the entire day, touring Gibbs Gardens with four friends from Alabama. The gardens never disappoint. Every time I visit, I am fascinated with the variety of blooms, the beauty of the arrangement of color and texture of plants, and the serenity of the scene, taken as a whole. I took loads of photos, thinking that I may use them to create note cards. I love my digital camera because I can take a multitude of pictures without spending any money for developing until I see what Ive got and select only the best ones. On the way home, we stopped at a remarkable shop near Ballground called Wildcat on the Wing. The store featured the finest in arts/crafts, such as pottery, jewelry, woodworking, stained glass, and paintings. The merchandise was too expensive for my pocketbook, but I certainly enjoyed looking. After a full day at Gibbs we went to dinner at the home of Kathryn Henderson Gammill, former S.H.S. physics teacher, and her husband Gene in the Buffington community of Cherokee County. Dinner was delicious, and the company was pleasant. Today was a great kickoff to the Labor Day weekend.
