Im exploring another concept, and I want to launch a trial balloon. Ive been exploring the idea of a 2nd podcast for a year, but the fact is, I just dont have time to properly prepare another show filled with a bunch of varied news, pop culture, trivia, guests, etc. So the On A Tangent concept is being shelved. But honestly, my favorite type of radio involves the telling of stories. Taking the listener on a journey. These are some of my favorite shows on TTA, where we explore the circumstances shared in story form. And I wonder if it might be interesting to do a storyteller type of show, where listeners submit original stories, both fact and fiction, to be read on-air. The burden of prep would make way for user-submitted content, and a relaxed, hang-with-a-glass-of-wine atmosphere would surround the 2-4 stories shared each week. It would almost be like a short story book club for the ears. The downside? The stories submitted might not be great. And/or the audience might not care anyway. Talk to me. Would that kind of show interest you?
