Im extremely stressed out. I take a couple different medications for my thyroid and for postpartum depression. These meds are very important for me to take daily. I went yesterday to Walgreens and they told me my medications were denied. One by my doctor and the other by my insurance and they gave me a number to call. I called the number and it was for my insurance to set me up on mail order medication. Thats fine, I can do that, but it takes 10 business days after the scripts are approved. Im completely out. They said they would call the pharmacy and allow me to fill them so I can have them in the mean time. I called my doctors office today to get my other scripts approved and they did, no problem, but said they never denied refills and that Walgreens never called them in before today. So this evening I go to Walgreens again to attempt to pick up my meds. I have 2 crying kids in my back seat and they tell me at the window that I dont have insurance. wHAT?! I definitely DO have insurance. They say I havent had it since July 5. Well, how the heck have I gotten my meds before today? This is news to me!! They say I can buy 2 pills for $18. My meds all together will be over $200!!! Now, Im having knee surgery TOMORROW. Last week, my insurance approved this surgery, because I do have insurance, and they are paying for it 100%. Why would they pay for my surgery if I dont have insurance? My big issue is that, well, Im having surgery tomorrow and on top of having said surgery, I will be in pain, coming down unwillingly from my antidepressants, and will be unable to get pain pills because the pharmacy says Im not insured!!!! Moral of the story, screw you Walgreens. You wont be seeing me anymore. They were so rude and not even remotely understanding. Ive felt like total crap all day without my medication. You have to wean yourself off these meds and I had to suddenly quit. Im not happy and tomorrow can only be worse.
