Im getting better all the time at taking action, offering - TopicsExpress

Im getting better all the time at taking action, offering suggestions, sharing my feelings..all without any expectation that the person with whom Im communicating will agree, or will follow my advice. I feel joyful to be willing and open enough to speak my truth aloud...and to allow the other the spaciousness and freedom to choose how they wish to be. I simply do my best in every divine moment (which can vary widely!). If a person does not respond to what I offer, it doesnt mean my offering was wrong, it just means the person holds different values, perspectives, or prefers to play with a different approach to the question. Either that, or they have more to learn, and more mistakes to make, before theyre ready to embrace the hard-won wisdom Ive offered. Whatever the case, I simply serve as a water droplet, merrily dancing over a rock in the stream. My ego may wish to be THE drop that causes that rock to crack, but my Spirit knows better than that! Perhaps I will, in that precise moment, be the final drop that causes the rock, after countless millennia, to shatter at last. And my ego will thump its chest and say, Hey...look what I did! Or perhaps the rock will shatter eons later, long after my tiny droplet has disappeared back into the clouds, my ego despondent that it didnt change the world. Even so, the gentle tapping I did could be said to be causative of that split, because the whole of existence—including my infinitesimal part—conspired to bring about the rocks shattering. Dropping the need for self-congratulation (or its converse, self-flagellation) when it comes to sharing the best we have to offer makes good sense in this regard. For one thing, its not the truth that we have changed another, ever. Change arises from within a person, and can only be supported from without. And yet, all that we DO influences everything that IS, always and forever. Go figure. Conclusion: Just do the best you can, and trust the process to take care of the rest! No need to own the result, or feel like a failure when it doesnt look like your efforts have made any impact.
