Im getting ready to go out.. I need to go to the VA Clinic, here in La Junta.. Plus I might go to a few other places too.. So I need to alert folks.. I have a new accessory, Not quite sure how to wear it, I dont think I have any clothes that would go well with it anyway.. Its an Oxygen Bottle, and it has an attachment that attaches to my nose and gets in the way of my line of sight. Up until Saturday, I didnt even know what a COPD Exacerbation was, now I have a pamphlet on it... From the tests and Xrays, my lungs are in good shape for a smoker, and the difference over the last 2-3 years seems to be directly COPD related. But this new episode was caused by a respiratory infection.. Something getting to be more common around this area.. And it seems age has a contribution as to what it is called.. Respiratory Ailment for the young, COPD for the elderly, (although, Im not elderly).. But we all know that any respiratory ailment untreated for a long time will start and promote ailments like COPD. And thats what happened to me.. So while Im out learning how to function with my new accessory, and it looks funny to you, laugh. And dont feel sorry for me.. I went through all the WTFs at Safeway, picking up my new prescriptions. Both Reuben and Mike, had looks of concern on their faces. These are old friends, Mike From high school, Reuben from the last 25 years. I hated to be doing that to them... Ive started treatments attempting to get the progression of COPD under control so I can a least have a few hours a day way from the oxygen bottle.. But it seems like that a 30-45 day project, so that gives you guys 6 weeks of poking fun.. But be careful, I can still pick that whole rack and bottle up with one hand a whack you with it.. LOL..
