Im getting ready to go to church tomorrow, which feels like a huge privilege and blessing. You see, Pastor Peter and I agreed that I could miss this Sunday so I could spend time with Papa and my family since the doctors let us know his time was close. But then something strange happened. Papa started to get better. I noticed it in the small things, like the nurse handing him the breathing goal thing to increase lung capacity or the time when respiratory nurse kept checking the chart and looking confused as he examined Papa, ultimately making the decision to keep lowering Papas oxygen mixture. Papa is far from being out of the woods yet and there are many more layers of his health we need to untangle before Papa can get to his goal of getting back to his own home, his cat, and his bed. But Papas better enough that I can worship God and celebrate the good things God does with FUMCO. Perhaps Ill be able understand those a little more readily tomorrow. Im exhausted, but grateful. The visits have been such a huge help for him. Thank you to everyone who has stopped by, theyve put such a huge smile on his face.
