Im glad Jesus went to the cross, carrying my sins and shame and died so that I wouldnt have to spent eternity separated from The Heavenly Father. However its all because of the resurrection that sealed the deal and granted eternal life to us as sinners. If it wasnt for the resurrection, then Jesus would have been just an ordinary man, who went about preaching good life morals, and occasionally drove the government to anger. But the fact that He arose, set Him apart and made His testimony a trustworthy cause. Paul recognized this, and even said if it werent for Christ resurrecting, then the basis of our faith and preaching is all in vain. (1 Corinthians 15) Its the resurrection that we have hope in our faith, knowing by Christ example, that we do not have to stay dead in our sins. Knowing the power of the resurrection brings new light to the term born again. We die, and we are born again, made into a new creature.
