Im glad those of you who know me have been enjoying my music quotes lately. Music has always and continues to play a huge part in my life. As many of you know, I worked for a record company and had hopes of getting into the A and R side of the business, hoping to find the next big thing - or helping those already signed on to bigger and better things. Never happened, but my love and passion for music continues to exist. One of the things I love about music are hidden gems among song lyrics. I for one get so into the music that I oftentimes just sing the lyrics without really thinking about them. Therefore, its fun to listen to something and find little pearls of wisdom in them. Any my taste in music? In high school, I was hitting clubs in LA every weekend, extremely excited about both the Ska and rockabilly movements, and mildly amused by some of the emerging punk bands. One of my favorite bands ever to see live? The Go-Gos believe it or not - before they were signed, they were one punk like band that was so much fun to see and experience - and dance to . . . . So yes, most of the lyrics Ill be pulling out will be from that period - whether it be the Specials, the Shaking Pyramids, X, The Cure, Squeeze, Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, Midnight Oil, Counting Crows , , , , etc. But Ill throw in a Goo Goo Dolls or Staind or others as well . . . . And spinning for me right now on Pandora - none other than the Red Hot Chili Peppers - how can you NOT just want to nod your head to their songs?!?!?!? Cheers!
