Im going out on a limb here - I have some sympathy with Russia over the Crimea. Based on....... a. Mostly ethnic Russian (we use this argument over the Falklands) b. Given to Ukraine in an administrative shuffle by Khrushchev and defaulted when the USSR broke up c. Is central to Russias defence strategy in the Black Sea/Mediterranean - (Look how we hold on to Gibraltar for many of the same reasons) d. Has been butting heads with the Ukrainian government for years over various facilities - naval bases and lighthouses! They have always considered Crimea Russian. Should we be getting upset and waving big sticks at them? I say - what did they do when we invaded Iraq? Or Afghanistan? They made some noise but pretty well left us alone - and we had hardly any justification for Iraq compared to the Russians in Crimea. Does the team think?
