Im going to be just fool enough to wade into politics: Hamas blows but traumatizing generations of Palestinians is both immoral and doomed to backfire. Honestly, if youre going to perpetrate a genocide you have to just do it. Kill everyone, erase them and their culture from the earth. But scarring your enemy and making them hate you forever dooms everyone to live in a stalemate with no chance of resolve. Israel is planting the seeds of some serious whirlwind down the road. You want to be a hospital bomber and kid killer you have to hope no one is left to remember it. Because some time down the road a lot of people will have the chance to vote or think or talk or work or fight on your behalf or against and theyll recall this and itll fall against you. I dont care how justified a nation or a person feels- you cant go in and beat up someone or something smaller than you and expect anything good to come of it. An eye for an eye implies a kind of ruthless fairness- one for one. Once that gets imbalanced youre in debt and in all likelihood you will pay. Same goes for Putin. Im not going to start writing in capital letters or anything, but Ill always remember this time and when I have a chance to put my energy toward one side or the other this will come to bear. A lot of people feel this way, I think, and its going to make a big difference in the way history unfolds.
