Im going to check out the movie Noah tonight with my wife Brittanie Summons. I cant help to comment about the roaring debate by evangelicals concerning the movie, imploring that Christians shouldnt go and support the film. Yeah... alot of people are crying about the Director being an self proclaimed Atheist. From what Ive read, many churches are protesting the movie. SO WHAT SAY YE DAVID SUMMONS.... well, I say go see it anyway. The fact that it has a secular influence doesnt offend me or my faith. I wasnt offended when I saw Lord of the Rings, or Born Identity (both of which were produced by Directors that are Atheist.) Yes, my money supported them, but the way I see it, its a great movie first. The content not following the biblical story to the letter doesnt negate the awesomeness of the movie for me, it just means it MAY be an useless tool for evangelism. At the end of the day, I love great movies, and I love the bible. We believers need to learn how to enjoy art. We should know the story of Noah well enough to discern the inconsistencies. But what about those who dont know the story? They will be led astray? In response I say, thank this director for the conversation starter, and do your job....witness!!! #my2cents #NOAH
