Im going to make some lunch then spend my afternoon at FT Dickerson quarry. I feel lazy and want to float around and even up my tan. I love it out there, its definitely a hidden gem in South Knoxville. The parking lot isnt even in FT Dickerson park. You have to drive back towards town and turn beside Wendys, stay to the left, cross some train tracks, take another left and theres an unmarked parking lot, usually loaded with cars. Then you follow a trail about a 1/4 mile, keeping to the right. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great spot to swim. They do have signs posted that swimming is not allowed. But, the rules are no longer enforced and theres usually a few dozen people, cliff jumping, kayaking, or floating around. The whole area is beautiful I cant believe I didnt find out about it until this summer. Ill probably be there for a few hours alone and dont want my phone stolen or soaked. So, If anyone tries calling me between 2 and 5 ill call you back when I get home. I realize that swimming alone is dangerous so if anything happens to me, I blame Poseidon. That being the case I would expect my most religious friends Josh Fowler and Andrew Sayne to follow in the footsteps of Emperor Caligula by waging war on Poseidon. Which will basically consist of standing on the shoreline taunting him, while stabbing the water with spears...
