Im gonna ask something of my white friends and allies: please dont tag me (or other black and brown bodied people) into posts or conversations regarding Ferguson or racism or the brutality that black and brown people are experiencing because of it. I understand you want my words to help articulate your arguments to the racist views of people you are dialoguing with but listen: what you are asking is for me/us to be a representative of our race to speak to this, a token, and as people who experience racism daily, who live inside these bodies, this is incredibly triggering and traumatizing; for me as a woman of color who experiences this not as a thing outside of myself but inside of myself every day and with my husband and children who are black people in a society that we cannot be safe in. I need you to consult other white allies or start googling articles and info so you can become better informed and better able to do the ground work. I know you can. I believe in you. Also, I have several white allies in my circle who Im sure would be glad to step in with you if you need to reach out for this. Love, Sarah
