Im gonna make a lot of friends here. Look, I loved Robin Williams. How much joy and laughter did that man bring us? TONS! The lack of hope he must have felt is almost unimaginable. BUT - and Im taking the liberty of saying this as some one who struggles with depression (and sometimes I wonder, who doesnt!? ) He took his OWN life! He lived in a country with EVERY AVAILABLE resource for someone with his struggles AND he had more money to attend to his needs than most of us EVER will. Everyone is going crazy with this story while at this moment CHILDREN ARE BEING BEHEADED, women are being raped and men killed because they claim the name of Jesus. How about equal outcry is all Im saying. CHILDREN ARE HAVING THEIR HEADS SAWED OFF! CHILDREN ARE HAVING THEIR HEADS SAWED OFF! CHILDREN ARE HAVING THEIR HEADS SAWED OFF! CHILDREN ARE HAVING THEIR HEADS SAWED OFF! Suicide is a horrible, horrible (albeit selfish) thing. But genocide? I dont have answers on what we should do but the least we should do is acknowledge that the butchering of little girls in blue plaid dresses should trump a wealthy mans self-centered way of leaving this earth.
