Im gonna state some opinions that I have now, which I know many dont agree with, but I need to get them off my chest: 1) Today our wish was granted and Kane started a Premier League match. However, with the exception of one early saved attempt, he did nothing as, surprise, surprise, he got no service! This suggests to me that it isnt actually that we need better strikers, its that we cannot play this 4-2-3-1 system, as our mid field do not get the ball to the striker. Kane has been great in cup games and last week against Villa, but he has always been playing alongside Soldado. 2) I think we need to play 4-4-2. Not just because I believe we need to play 2 up front (see above), but because our defence is shit and teams seem to be getting through our midfield and past our defence WAAY to easily. 3) Possibly most controversial of all: Levy - he doesnt choose the team; he may have sacked far too many managers, but I believe he felt he was doing so in the interest of the teams progress; yes, hes sold a lot of star players, but these were players desperate to leave and who forced his hand - he held Modric hostage for as long as possible!; finally, we can say we want him and ENIC out and end up with a damn sight worse, believe me! We talk about wanting a rich Arab/Russian investor á la City/Chavski, but those two clubs have totally lost their identities, have plastic fans and basically buy their success. 4) Possibly equally as controversial, Baldini: The players hes supposedly single handedly picked for us were doing extremely well before they came to Spurs - Soldado and Lamela being prime examples. Therefore, is it really fair to blame our poor form on him? 5) Europa League: We have enough players for 2 good teams. Therefore, I dont see how we can use Europa League as an excuse for our poor performances in the Prem. Any thought? Xena
