Im happy to announce a NEW Icewind CHAMPION this weekend! I showed Mr. Fino yesterday and finished him with his last major, under Judge Audrey Lycan, while his owner Lisa Knudson Halpain was in Illinois kicking butt at the Region 11 Arabian Horse Show. So Fino is officially AKC Ch. Icewinds Elegante Fino 2012, pending AKC confirmation. Fino is the 3rd Champion for his dam Evil, AKC GrCh/Ch Icewinds Good Or Evil? (Evil), and the 1st of his litter to finish. He is the 1st Champion for his sire, AKC GrCh/Ch Wild Calls Pura Dinamita (Tin Tin). I didnt get to get a show photo taken of his win yesterday until today, and the judge had nothing but good things to say about him. She said he is a lovely young boy with an OUTSTANDING shoulder and movement. She said she used to be head of the judges education for the Samoyed Club, and they did seminars comparing the 3 Northern Breeds...Samoyeds, Alaskan Malamutes, and Siberian Huskies. She said it was nice to see such a lovely young boy (he is 18 months old but still very teenagey and immature) with such fantastic structure and movement. It did my heart good to hear her words of praise of our gangly, silly, happy boy Fino. I wasnt sure how he would show for me since I havent shown him for a long time, but he showed great respect and probably great restraint, behaving and showing beautifully. Its nice to know my breeding program is right on track as far as structure, movement, type, and temperament. It was a fun weekend spent with great dogs and great friends, as well as a fun puppy party last night with 11 Siberian puppies keeping everyone there on their toes and overwhelming the guests with an overload of pure cuteness! Nothing cuter than a Siberian Husky puppy!
