Im having a lot of missed feelings toward Leelah taking her life. On one hand, I believe its very sad, very tragic, and Im grateful she gave her life in the name of acceptance and equality. On the other hand, I feel suicide is never the answer, and the fact that people are seeking revenge on her parents disgusts me.. Let me explain, people are going to be how they are, though I do very very much believe the way they supposedly treated her was VERY wrong, I do believe conversion therapy needs to be banned, but you cant change the way someone feels about something, only a person can change the way the feel about something, thats individuality. Forcing someone to accept us is no worse than forcing someone to be straight, or normal.. You see? Acceptance takes time, we are getting there. Seeking revenge will do no good, its not going to bring Leelah back, its not going to do anything but cause more hurt. Wake up, and learn that love is love, and hate is hate. Seeking revenge is never a sign of love.. I could see how in some cases it seems justifiable, and though sometimes it leads to positive consequences, it doesnt make it right.. Sorry if what I said has offended anyone, but please bare in mind I am who I am in the name of love, and honesty. Have a wonderful day everyone.
