Im having a lovely day so far. Got some laundry and chores done, fed the kids and they got dressed. Then we got out two backpacks and some coupons and walked to the Korean grocery to buy a bunch of food (we saved 17 dollars, so the total was less than 20 dollars. And that included steak and a LOT of fresh vegetables and some fresh myun (Korean noodles). The kids finished their summer reading program, and in the free stuff booklet were coupons for free Italian ices. Warmish day, but the breezes and the ices made it still quite pleasant for the kids. Halfway there, on a quiet street in our neighborhood, is a group home for people living with developmental delays. We almost never see any of them, but one of them greets us with a smile and a friendly hello every time we see him. Weve known him for a few years now. We always tell him hi and where we are going, and tell him well be back in a bit. He always waits to say hi again on our way back. Hes truly a lovely person. Today he had a small gift for the kids - a small American flag. He asked if wed come say hi to him on the 4th of July. So I guess thats on the schedule. We live in a really friendly neighborhood, and I feel really fortunate about that. Hope you are having a great day too, all of you.
