Im having a tough time understanding how an entity such as the idea or ideal of GOD is at the same time a vengeful punisher and a peaceful being that promotes love to and for all. In the same breath, that sounds great because he is supposed to be like us or we humans of sin are like him rather so it makes sense that he would have both traits as do we humans. However, I wonder what example does that show to those that aspire to be godlike and jesuslike. Wouldnt that just enforce that its okay to be both ways instead of just trying to be good. Why is the term godly defined by the good and selfless aspects of the GOD role when he is also a vengeful punisher. Why ignore that part. I need to find a way to turn my brain off. Sigh
