Im having car trouble. The kind where I might need to make a vehicle decision ( ie fix or sell). Its the first big thing thats come along that Im going to have to tackle without bouncing it off mom, and its her car. Its a daunting decision, there is sentiment involved and im more worried about than I probably should be. What I needed today was perspective. I got it. The absolute very last thing mother ever did was donate money to buy some yak/cows for a school in China. She did this in the hours before she left home for hospice. I had really sort of forgotten about it until an email came today. Here is what it said: From Angela at Angel Covers: The dzomos (yak/cow hybrid) have been purchased (see attached photos) and delivered to the school, and the children are now enjoying milk every day. As you know, Angel Covers had previously sent funds to purchase some of the dzomos, but did not have enough funding to provide all that the school had asked for. The donation from your mother helped to buy the last dzomos, and there was some money left over. The school has asked to use the remaining funds to buy winter clothing and supplies for the children, and they will be buying them soon. It may take a while for us to get photos of the clothes, since winter is coming soon and once that happens they may not have Internet access for a few months. We will get the next report and photos to you as soon as well can - depending on the weather. :-) From Sambhota School Dear sponsor, Thank you so much for your generous support! We have been able to buy four dzomos, a special kind of cows, they are crossbreeds from yak/cow parents. The quality of their milk is better than ordinary yak cows and they are easier to herd than normal yaks. For the moment, the four cows give an average of 7-8 liters of milk per day, so each of the 35 children can have one big glass of milk every day. We are very happy about this. It is a big improvement for the school and for the childrens health. We are sure that the effects will show very fast, giving the children nutritious elements which will help them to build a strong body. Especially now we have winter, we believe they will be more resistant from the cold weather and diseases. Thanks again for your kind support. Best regards, Sambhota School Sort of puts its all in perspective. Ill get this car thing figured out. Somewhere in China 35 kids are getting a big glass of milk each day and will have warm clothes for the winter, thanks in part to Lala. Thats a much bigger deal.
