Im hearing a lot of comments regarding Pnoys SONA. Some are good, others are really destructive. Whats with all the bashing and complaining? Instead of complaining and bashing the current government, why not pray for them and do your part as a citizen? The problem is, nowadays, people want everything to be instant. Instant food, instant job, instant change of government etc etc. Only God can do and change things in an instant. If we expect our President to change our country overnight that would be impossible without God. Lets be patient and continue to hope for Gods promises in our nation. Lets pray fervently without ceasing for our God is sovereign and faithful. After all, Scripture says: Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance. (Psalm 33:12 NIV) Pnoy became our president for a reason. He was put their by God for a reason. And we may look at it in different ways, but bottom line is, he is authority, and we are commanded to obey the authorities. Let me just remind everyone what the Bible says about obeying authorities: Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. (Romans 13:1-5 NIV) Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you. (Hebrews 13:17 NIV) Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. (Titus 3:1-2 NIV) Have we prayed about it as much as weve complained about it? 🙏 #prayforthePhilippines #prayforourgovernment #GodblessPhilippines
