Im here if you need me says nothing at all, however well meant, to the person who needs them. Read the signs, however well hidden, and then act - dont offer and wait. If the worst should actually happen, are you better to say Well I did offer! or I did everything I could!. If that same friend were to have an accident on the streets, would you drive by with a cheery wave whilst they are laying there in need of help and call out Im here if you need me or would you stop and give them the help they need and maybe call an ambulance? Depression and anxiety are killers if left untreated. Not by pills, or by doctors, though they undoubtedly play their part. But by a friend or even a stranger, taking the time to show that they care with action not intent. Today and everyday, show someone that you care.
