Im home. Im so worn out but not as much as mama. Poor baby. When I went back in this morning her color was sallow. She was exhausted. The physical therapists came in to try and teach mom how to stand on one leg with the walker, which lasted about 30 seconds. She can only use one leg. Shes 87. She broke out in a sweat, couldnt do it any longer. Shes so weak. Her oxygen was at 83!. Blood pressure was good. They gave her a breathing treatment in a chair and all she kept saying was How much longer? I have to lie down. Mamas not a complainer. This made me worry. I had a conversation with the Nurse Practitioner about how her hemoglobin keeps dropping. (After all, the blood is what carries oxygen to your lungs!) They are going to draw blood this evening to check that. I cant wait until they transfer her to the Hematologists office for an exam, to see if this can get resolved.) I had to call off work today. I set my alarm but I didnt need to. I was already up all night. I dont call off. Im Old School that way. I have a job, I do my job, but being up all night with mama and not having any sleep has done me in.
