Im home!! Surgery went well today with no complications so I was able to get discharged this evening. Todays surgery was for a skin release on my right arm to relieve tension on my scar bands. I have a pretty big open area from the release so I have integra and a wound vac over it. The release was right by my elbow so I have a splint on my arm immobilizing it so it can heal. The wound vac will probably stay on for the next couple of weeks and then the docs will put a skin graft over it. I was not sure I would be able to walk with my cane with my arm immobilized with a wound vac, but they gave me a small portable wound vac so I have been managing. They also rented a power wheelchair for me to use for the next few weeks in case I struggle with the walking, I definitely dont want to be back in the power chair if I dont have to!
