Im in a melancholy mood. Tonight after supper, everyone moved around to their night shift duties. Im in the 4 wheel driver running the soil ripper with Son #2, but Im just the rider. Some how my little guy I used to buckle into his booster and strap to the tractor buddy seat is now the driver. Instead of listening to the Sesame Street Greatest Hits cd we have the local country music radio station blasting away. On Friday, we had to buy a new tractor. That was definitely not in this farms budget but the old 4 wheel wasnt worth the cost of repairs. So, Im riding a long to check out what I bought. Right now Im getting lectured on the virtues of the R Series tractors and why its better to run in auto than manual. Most of what he is talking about means absolutely nothing to me. I have just as good of a chance of understanding Chinese as I do tractor engineering, but I will just keep on listening because he is smiling and talking to his mom.
