Im in love with First Avenue. More on that in a second... First Id like to apologize in advance for the handful of promotional posts youll see this week for Saturdays Transmission at First Avenue. Unfortunately its just part of the gig. It seems each time I do, a couple people thank me for the heads up...as they had no idea (thank you FB and your weird algorithms). I only host two Transmissions a year in the main room and theyre very much special events in my world. Having grown up in the Twin Cities and calling The Ave a second home for 23 years (over half my life) means that the black structure with all those awesome stars on it has played a huge role in leading me to where I am and what I do today. From meeting my first girlfriend, having wedding pictures taken outside its walls, celebrating birthdays, holidays, throwing hundreds of REV 105 T-shirts out to crazed Sunday Night Dance Party goers, to seeing all-time favorite bands and opening for music heroes. That joint means a lot to me (as I know it does to so many of you), so to be able to host parties where thousands of you show up to let your guards down and just have a blast means the world to me. Its hometown pride xs 1,000...believe me. So thank you again for allowing me to do the necessary evil of marketing out here. Its much appreciated...and once the night arrives, is well worth it. Im completely honored to work with many of this citys best venues, but theres only one that holds the history.
