Im in no way the worlds biggest sports fan. In fact, I dont really give a %*¥! about sports, except when a local team is in the playoffs/finals/whatever. However, I usually like watching the lions after they win a game or two, since thats really weird for anyone who was born after 19... well, for anyone whos currently alive. So yeah, I dont know much about football, but since the Lions have been doing well, I have been watching for the past few weeks. Some fans might get their panties in a knot and ask, where were you when they werent doing well? My answer is simple: I dont really care either way, so please dont waste your energy accusing me of being a bad sports fan. Anyway, I was in the car today before the game, and thought Id try listening to my local Lions station, 97.1, to get some insight or details about the big playoff game today (Or maybe its not a playoff game. I dunno, its some important football game). I figured sports talk radio is nothing but guys talking about sports, and since theyd surely be talking about todays big game, I could learn something interesting. Aside from the names of players and a lot of football jargon, Im pretty sure I understand what this game is all about. Heres what I learned by listening to sports talk radio for about 30 minutes: 1. The Lions need to win this game. 2. The team that scores the most points will win. 3. The Lions need to score more points if they want to win. 4. The Lions need to not get very many penalties if they want to win this game. 5. The Lions need to get the ball in the end zone if they want to win this game. 6. If the Lions have any injuries, they will probably not do as well as the other team. 7. If the Lions defense is strong, they have a better chance of winning the game. 8. If the Lions offense is strong, they have a better chance of winning the game. 9. The team that really wants to win this game is the team that will win.* 10. The Lions need to get out there and play hard. 11. Special Teams is something worth mentioning a lot. * Im pretty sure both teams want to win this game. With the exception of number 12 above, I already seem to know all I need to about football. At the time of this writing, the Lions have 20 points, and the Cowboys have 14 points. Based on my recently acquired knowledge of football games, I can confidently report: A. The Lions are winning. B. If they keep winning until the end of the game, theyll win the game. C. There are more games after this one, the last being the Super Bowl. Go Lions!!!!
