Im incredibly frustrated tonight. We have temp stalls set up in our barn. We bought this place at the end of January, we bought based on the land for the horses in rescue. The barn is 40x80 and has a poured concrete floor, it is nice but was never set up for horses. We dont have a hay mow, we used the round pen panels to house the sick/injured horses. All others are on turnout 24/7, which is where they all wanna be. Well when I went out tonight to do the evening feed, Monet was down. Because they are not full stalls, she was stuck 1/2 the way under/into another stall, there is a horse in that stall. I tied the other horse out at the hitching post and we worked at getting her spun around. 3 people in an enclosed stall trying to use lead ropes to move a 1500+ lb horse is a recipe for disaster. Thankfully her head was not stepped on by the other horse and she knew we had leads around her legs to help her and she didnt panic. My biggest fear is someone or some animal will get hurt. I just wish we could get stalls built and a hay mow above them. Someday we will have what we need, until then, we will just pray that it all works out. Sorry for being a sad sack tonight, it is just hard sometimes.
