Im interested in seeing this continuation and evolution of the Paris Is Burning era to see how much of a change, if any, that the ballroom scene has made and rather it has been a progression, regression or has stayed completely the same. I definitely have my opinions and experience as an observer since 99 being introduced by the late great Paul Khan Ebony to my participation in my first major ball at the POCC in 2006 walking All-American runway with my house at the time, Balenciaga. As Im sure many do, I have had a love/hate relationship with the scene. Its definitely a very complexed subculture that isnt easily described or summed up. Ive seen the very best that it has to offer and the worst. I dont participate anymore but I still hold the scene itself and some of its participants and houses in high regard while I see other things that have affirmed my decision to leave and focus on my life outside of it. Im very interested in seeing The Rebirth of Paris and hearing the perspective of some of those Ive been priveledge enough to meet over the years and even called brother, sister or friend.
