While on the road, I opened up on my iPad to read the New York Times and discovered a real (and FREE) gem for all of you who either want to learn HOW TO COOK or are pretty good at it and want to ramp it up. The NYT has created a whole website on COOKING cooking.nytimes/ with 16,000 recipes ranging from vegan, vegetarian to spa cuisine and traditional. Two of my favorite NYTimes chefs Mark Bittman and Martha Rose Shulman are featured. Top that with a whole series of brief, simple videos on every cooking technique you can imagine. See the one below on how to cut an avocado! Im screwed that up so many times that it was great to finally see a pro do it. After all, its the simple things in life that count! I downloaded the FREE iPad app entitled COOKING and its absolutely terrific! There are featured collections of what to cook this week, six awesome vegetarian options. as well as specialized holiday and holy day recipes (Rosh Hashana). For those of us who are time crunched, there are quickie ways to prepare really delicious meals. I found the NYT approach to be gentle, friendly, inviting and helpful.
