Im just furious that I was not paying more attention! The Toronto Zoo, with the bill being paid for by Bob Barker of TV fame, are preparing for the 3 elephants at the Toronto Zoo, to be DRIVEN to California, a 5 day trip they have suggested, in cages, on flat bed trucks is NOT acceptable! Why cant Bob Barker ( good publicity for him and his cause) and the Toronto Zoo, with the support of the Ontario Government , not have approached the US Military/ and Government for a favour, of using one of those gigantic aircrafts that haul 3 and 4 jeeps at a time to different war zones, and ask if these beautiful creatures could not be transferred in this type of air craft to California? I am so angry at the thought of a 5 day road trip and the 5 day caging of these elephants, not to mention the huge responsibility that the zoo-caretaker have to endure. This Is NOT acceptable. I have emailed Elephants without Borders, telling them of these animals plight and I hope they have some pull with whoever they chose to approach, to be able to do better for the transportation of these 3 wonderful creatures. Would you all look into The Toronto Star, The Toronto Sun and CFRB radio and check out their articles and leave your views and comments, giving backing to Elephants without Borders to intervene in any way they can, to get the animals to California in a more humane way!
