Im just getting around to looking at the history of the Dunn(e) family of Mundy Pond. While I have not completed any exhaustive study, I know that the parents of Elle Dunne who married Joseph Murphy were Patrick Dunn(e) and Rebecca Foley who was born in Tilting Harbour around 1847. I know that Ellen had at least eight other siblings born between 1870 and 1886. While their baptism record does not show Mundy Pond, it can be rationalized based on the name of the sponsors at the christening of each child, names like Dillon, Crotty, Brine, and of course Dunn(e) would support a conclusion that the Dunn family was in Mundy Pond by at least the 1870s and prior to the Ropewalk. I will update this note based on future findings.
