Im just gonna say it. Breastfeeding can be faaaaaaaaaarking hard. Not for everyone, I know, but for a lot of mummies. This mummy included. Thought I had it licked (no pun intended) with Grace this time. One week of feeding awesomeness followed by almost every issue under the sun. Been feeding off one poor little (okay, not so little) boob for weeks now (sorry if TMI). Argh! Told myself if it was as difficult with Grace as it was with Hudson (a nightmare, but I kept going) I would be kinder to myself and consider supporting options. But alas, no. On I persevere. Maybe its because I fear the stupid (and frankly mean!) judgement that comes with anything and everything breastfeeding related? But I hope its because I want to give our little Gracie the best start in life I can. Silly, as I also truly believe that formula fed babies do a-okay in life too. Yes, Im one of them (being adopted and all). Feeling hypocritical, sore, confused and super tired today. But for now my one stubborn boob and I will push on. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?
