Im just home from a HSE forum meeting where I had tabled a Question re Ambulance cover for the General Thurles Area which takes in the surrounding parishes which would be a large area. The reply I got was shocking and has compounded my worst fears which is; that this whole area is just covered by ONE ambulance and if and when the obvious happens and when that ambulance responds to an emergency and another person requires an ambulance there is none. This is totally unacceptable and I made that clear to the HSE and Ive called today for at least 2 ambulances to be.covering at all times .the hse response was that its under review. But Im asking everyone to get behind my campaign to have a second ambulance covering at all times, Anything less is just not acceptable in my opinion. This is actually a life or death issue.
