Im just looking at page 56 in todays edition of the Toronto Sun which shows a world map and tells us of all the places in it still overseen by royalty, as in kings and queens. Theres are usual suspects like our own, to say nothing of Britains, Liz, plus various emirs, sultans and crown wearers from places we never knew about. The one Im staring at right now is Bhutan, a place hidden among the Himalayas. I cant even pronounce the name of the language they prattle away in, Dzongkha. The population of Bhutan is a scant 742,737, according to the latest census, or not a whole lot more than the Region of Durham. Yet, they have a parliament and king, the guys who interests me because of his name. Hes King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. On the street, hed be whom, more familiarly, Jig Wang?
