Im just not sure what to make of this.. Has Ferguson become the testing grounds for martial law? Has it become the starting point of a modern day revolution for individual rights as Americans? Has it become the launching point for a national racial war as the separation grows into a point of all of us turning on one another? Or, has it become the reason for a few to purge and turn a positive stand against something into terrifying nightmare for others? Im just not sure what to make of it… The fact that this is happening in our country is concerning, alarming and saddening all at the same time. This isnt happening in Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Africa or some other foreign country while the U.S. intervenes… This is happening here… In our neighborhoods.. not just in Ferguson but everyday in neighborhoods across our country.. Ferguson has just had a magnifying lens plastered over the top of it.. This war on the streets isnt new to those of us who have grown up in the lesser fortunate parts of our country. Sure there may not be tanks rolling down the street, or canisters of tear gas exploding, but there still is the instinct, need and fight to survive with little or next to nothing except a little bit of hope that over time only gets less easier to hold on to. When hope is lost, despair takes over and desperation sets in, the un-comprehendible actually becomes an option. This isnt white vs black. This is still Rich vs Poor. And in the poorest of neighborhoods the poor fight with the poor to get a lil richer. Again, Like I said, I am just not sure what to make of this.
