Im knitting a simple double seed stitch dishcloth with my lovely cotton yarn, but Im frustrated - my cast on is not consistent. It rarely is. Im not sure why this happens as I make a good effort to cast on each stitch with the same tension and then knit the first row with the same tension, yet I keep having an ugly cast on row. It doesnt matter what I cast on with (in this case its just a simple backwards loop) so I must be doing something critically wrong. Does anyone have any tips for me on this?
