Im learning to get along with downtown Charlotte, as a user of public transportation. Heres some tips I utilize: mind your manners, keep mostly quiet and engage in friendly/helpful chatter only when appropriate, know who to ask if youre stumped, look straight ahead, put on your best tough/Meanie Face, be prepared to punch somebody if you need to, and know how to always stay as warm as possible on a frosty night (tonight I used my umbrella to shield myself from cold in one area where there was no option to be indoors while waiting..and doubled up on the gloves & socks)...Also, always have a superb escape plan incase someone feels like hitting on you. And dont ever get clumsy or look like you dont know where youre going!! (P.S. - Im usually somewhat clumsy--I SWEAR there was a bump in the sidewalk!!--and have a poor sense of direction, so for these trips I prepare thoroughly for combatting these weaknesses..)
