Im looking at putting this into place officially, and am looking for honest feedback. Honestly; Im done with all the games on both sides of the camera, and if this costs me some of the models I currently work with, Im willing to accept that. At this point I feel like Im wearing short pants and a propeller beanie, not because I want to, but simply because I work in a playground. I hope there are people who will have the time and inclination read this ridiculously long post, and then share their thoughts. This may be modified depending on the feedback I get, but some sort of formal is going into place. Unlike too many people (imo of course), Im not willing to consider this stuff the cost of doing business and its not in my nature to just gripe without doing something. ***** Due to recent, but ongoing issues; DFP is has created a hiring policy regarding the booking of paid models/actresses. I recognize that this is a more formal policy than most of the industry uses, but I see what I do a business, and DFP Productions, LLC as a company, which is also different than what seems to a more common perception of production/modeling as simply a way to make money. If this policy is unacceptable to anyone I work with, I understand and accept your own right to work where, and with whom you wish to as an independent contractor. However this is the policy I will be using: DFP PRODUCTIONS, LLC HIRING POLICY FOR INDEPENDENT CONTRCTORS 1) Communication is fundamental to successful business dealings. Although DFP recognizes that the fluid nature of this industry may prevent an immediate response, failure to respond to a business communication in a reasonable period of time will be considered to be a lack of interest in the offer, and it will be withdrawn. Consistent and ongoing communications issues will result in DFP no longer extending booking offers. For the purposes of this policy; seven days is considered to be a reasonable period of time. 2) Like any business; models have the right to determine what content they’re comfortable shooting, and with whom they’re comfortable shooting it. DFP recognizes this right, however as a for-profit company, DFP also has the need to stay competitive in the marketplace. If a model is found to be producing content she has informed DFP she does not produce, then DFP will consider that falsification of work standards, and will withdraw any existing bookings with no future bookings being offered or compensation being expected. DFP does also recognize that something as personal as comfort limits will tend to change or evolve over time, and may well differ from producer to producer. DFP Productions, LLC’s only expectation is an open and honest discussion. If reasons for these specific limitations are discussed, then DFP may or may not continue to discuss working with that individual, but this may affect that model’s marketability. The purpose of this clause isn’t to force a model to standardize her limits, but merely to explain them clearly. 3) Model bookings are legal contract agreements between DFP Productions, LLC and a model. All wardrobe, content, and other details will be fully discussed with both parties prior to the day of the shoot. Models will be invited to review all such details prior to accepting the booking. If a model arrives unprepared for the shoot, the shoot will be subject to cancellation without compensation, which will include any travel fees. If a model declines to shoot a script as written and agreed to prior to the day of shoot, then the shoot will again be subject to cancellation, and the model will receive compensation only for the content filmed up to the time of cancellation. 4) As of January 1st, 2015; all compensation will be in the form of a company check from DFP Productions, LLC. Cash payments will no longer be possible after that date. 5) All non-monetary compensation offered by DFP Productions, LLC including, but not limited to hosting, meals, content trade, and courtesy transportation are offered at the sole discretion of DFP Productions, LLC, and such offers may be retracted at any time subject to review. 6) DFP Productions, LLC reserves the right to enforce any and all of these policies as it determines. All incidents are subject to case-by-case review, and DFP Productions, LLC reserves the right to waive enforcement of these policies when it determines that there is cause to do so. 7) By accepting a booking with DFP Productions, LLC these policies are accepted and agreed to.
