Im looking at the photos, comparing tagged photos to my yearbook - TopicsExpress

Im looking at the photos, comparing tagged photos to my yearbook when it dawns on me how many people Ive forgotten. There are faces that instantly populate my memories long tucked away, and some faces and names I wouldve put good money on as people Ive never met or heard of. Back to the Facebook photos and Im still perplexed how few actually attended. Im sure a third of the attendance were made up of nervous spouses as it were. Why is that? Why are there 125 members but only a handful of active posters? We have joined this group because of some perceived value, but few have participated in news or anecdotes from the past. We lurk and browse profiles but do not commit to friending the person. The bias that we carried about each other still exist, 20 years on. But we also joined in order to see how our peers are doing in life, how weve all aged, how weve vacated Renton the first chance we had or chose to hold the fort and stay and fight. We came back for the nostalgia, a fading memory of how we used to be as kids, when house payments and jobs were something our parents dealt with. Back when we were carefree, stupid, full of hope, full of love, with the whole world at your taking. We want it for our kids and try to remember that overwhelming sense of potential and vision. We forget the prejudices, the narrow mindedness, the mean words, the general asses that we were to each other. But the reunion photos and Steven Jay Jr Barbers comments about everyone of us is true. We have all grown up. We are different people who have experienced losses and wins. We arent the obnoxious jocks, or the ditzy cheerleader, or the weird nerd, or the super smart guy anymore. I think its time for us to get reacquainted. So if youre game, like this post. If we get to 60 likes, Ill get the ball rolling. Ive seen way more than that reading posts, so Im just looking for the minimal involvement of clicking like.
